Overview
Katharine has a broad common law practice. Her principal areas of practice are occupiers and public liability, work injury damages, statutory workers’ compensation, motor accidents, historical sexual abuse and medical negligence. She appears for both plaintiffs and insurers.
Her practice also includes industrial and employment matters, including claims for unfair dismissal, adverse action, underpayment of wages and disciplinary proceedings.
Katharine regularly appears in the Personal Injury Commission, the District and Supreme Court as well as the Australian Human Rights Commission, NCAT and the Fair Work Commission.
Prior to coming to the bar, Katharine was an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law. She worked as a solicitor for a mid-tier regional firm and specialised in claims for motor accidents, workers compensation, work injury damages and occupiers and public liability. She also gained significant experience in employment law and disciplinary proceedings.
Katharine was actively involved with the Wollongong & District Law Society and was the President of the WDLS immediately prior to being called to the bar.
